Inspired by iconic rock recordings like Julie Ruin and Television as well as a long term obsession with listening to breakthrough music National Airlines started as a project of Dallas and Simon Rayner. Playing early shows with a drum machine and programmed bass the band emerged loud and brazen onto the Melbourne music scene.
There was a time when National Airlines was shiny, pink, plastic and fun. Jumped up on New Rave / Wave and Electro. An EP came out of this, simple, danceable Sweet Life.
The title track became part of MTV LA's hit serires 'Ninas Mal'.
